The Lock Screen in Windows 10 is a nice feature carried over from Windows 8. It’s nice to look at and is supposed to house notifications from apps that you allow to it. The only problem is that for a lot of users, app information simply isn’t showing up on the lock screen (users are desperately seeking a solution while Microsoft remains mute on the problem). With no app information available on the Lock screen, it’s pretty much just an extra UI layer which will give you the time and date as you walk by. You can set any image of your choice as the lock screen image but as far as utility goes, it’s not doing much. If you’d rather not have it, there’s a simple trick to disabling it.
To Disable The Lock Screen In Windows 10 Follow This Steps:
Step 1: Open the windows registry editor. In the search bar type ‘Regedit’ (without the quote marks) and click the first search result which ought to be a desktop app. Allow it to make changes when prompted.
Step 2: Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
Step 3: Create a new key and name it ‘Personalization’ (no quote marks)
Step 4: Create a new DWORD value and name it NoLockScreen. Set it’s value to 1
Step 5: Reboot your system. There will be no lock screen to greet you this time. You will go straight to the login screen.

If you later decide you would like to have the lock screen, you can reverse this by deleting the Personalization key you created or if you’d like to keep the option to enable/disable it whenever you want, you can set the value of the
NoLockScreen DWORD file to
0 to turn it off.
