How To Enable The Dark Theme In Windows 10

Windows 10 comes with a dark theme that you can enable if you’re willing to make a small change in the Registry. It’s been rumoured that the dark theme is only available on the Pro and Enterprise version and not the Home version but we’ve run tests and been able to get it going on Windows Home edition. Here’s how you can switch to the dark theme in Windows 10.

To Enable The Dark Theme In Windows 10 Follow this Steps:

For Windows 10 Professional & Enterprise Users:
Step 1: Type Regedit in the search bar and open the Registry
Step 2: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\Personalize
Step 3: Create a new DWORD value and name it “AppsUseLightTheme”

For Windows 10 Home Users:
Step 1: Type Regedit in the search bar and open the Registry
Step 2: Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\Personalize
Step 3: Create a new DWORD value and name it “AppsUseLightTheme”
